Here at Ocean, we buy only
top quality, grade A Arabica beans from all over the coffee growing world.
We hand roast them in small batches in Rhode Island. Most roasters (almost
all in fact) "quench" the roasted beans in water. This causes
the beans to lose flavor and gain weight, which is pretty convenient since
coffee is sold by the pound! We don't do that. We cool the beans in air,
harnessing the goodness and managing the delicate, complex flavors. From
the roaster we pack the beans in moisture controlled bags and deliver
them to our customers a lot faster than you can drive a truck from Seattle!
